Mainframes Developer - Infosys : Job Details

Infosys is seeking a Mainframe (PL/1, C370) developer. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design; play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts; deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and Business User support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty; be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.Required Qualifications:Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or Boston, MA or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.Min 4 years of Information Technology experience4+ years of Experience in PL/1, C370 and Custom Scripting experience.3+ years of Application and Business user support experiencePreferred Qualifications:Proficient in PL/1, C370 programming on mainframe systemsExperience in C programing and scriptingExposure to Assembler and Mark IV variantsPreferred experience in Solaris or HPUX platformApplication monitoring and support experienceDebugging and understanding potential issuesDesign, build, maintain and improve applications, experience in transformation projects from legacy to modern architecturesProvide Tier 2 (Business user) and Tier 3 (App Dev) supportEnsure clients' requests are always well addressed, in a timely manner, with appropriate reportingWork closely with clients and peers to define clear specifications and gather requirementsWorking alongside business analysts and project managers to comprehend the requirementsAnalysis and development of requirementsUnit / system / regression / performance evaluating those requirementsFixing bugs, reviewing, and supporting the implementation of codesThe job may also entail sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time.
