Job Description :
Responsibilities
- Supervises all shift personnel in the Maintenance and Building & Grounds departments
- Manages the equipment change parts inventory, and responsible for ensuring that all equipment in the plant is functioning correctly by conducting regular maintenance and repairs
- Works closely with management, production and corporate staff on special projects, specifications and changes in procedures, product design and changes
- Coordinates and schedules the equipment Preventative Maintenance and the corresponding Engineering Change Control, if necessary
- Design and implement new manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
- Evaluate, select and install new equipment that meets the plant's production requirements
- Manages and plans the line change overs, set up, repairs and new installations
- Coordinates and directs projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities
- Identify areas where costs can be reduced by improving processes and implementing cost-saving measures
- Develop and implement a TPM strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
- Works closely with Human Resources in the selection of new employees, performance evaluations and preventive actions to minimize employee risk
- Manage the project from start to finish, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Works with Controller and Site Leader to manage the facility budget, ensuring that expenses are within budgetary constraints and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Actively participate in the implementation of new policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department
- Works closely with QA to resolve quality issues of equipment in a prompt manner
- Work closely with Production Supervisor to ensure communication of lines, production schedules, down time, change overs, etc
- Maintains the maintenance area and storage rooms in an orderly and clean manner, always following the Current cGMP and general safety practices
- Perform mechanical work along side mechanics
- Maintains an adequate level of supplies in the area
- Follow the established Quality systems and policies
- Follow the established Safety systems and policies
- All other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
- Ability to hear and speak as well as good vision
- Ability to work with both hands and arms (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand)
- Lifting requirements includes: 50 lbs from floor to waist level
- Pass respirator fit test
- Licensed fork truck operator or willingness to be certified
- Ability to understand Plant computer systems and willingness to train others
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work independently and complete job tasks with accuracy and detail
- Good attendance
- Ability to work overtime
Skills and Abilities
- Practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings and models
- Knowledge of processors, chips, electronic equipment, PLC and computer including Office System
- knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Ability to work under pressure such as, time constraints and multiple tasks. Good interpersonal relationship. Strong sense of urgency, and have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as solid planning and organizational
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote compliance with local, state, or national regulations for the protection of people, data, property, and facilities. Good understanding of Standards and regulations, such as, GMP's, SDS, DOT and OSHA
Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other mechanical field
- Master's degree preferred
- At least five (5) years of experience in a management position or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years manufacturing experience
