  • Definition and Basic Function:
  • TheMaintenance Associate is responsible as a member of the Facility Services Team to assist in maintenance of theorganization's physical sites and promote the safetyand well being of all Individuals and Team Members.
  • Accountability:
  • TheMaintenance Associate is directly accountable to the Associate Director of Facility Services and subsequently to theDirector of Operations.
  • Responsibilities:
  • 1. Demonstratesa respectful positive attitude that promotes service excellence to Individuals,fellow Team Members, families and / or the general public. 2. Remainsfamiliar with all Friendship Community buildings and equipment, electrical,water, and sewage systems to manage routine maintenance and emergency operationprotocols. 3. AssistsMaintenance Team in long range planning of facilities, updating maintenanceimprovement programs, plans relating to projects, meeting with vendors, andordering supplies for projects. 4. Performsbuilding, vehicle, grounds and other necessary work projects as assigned tomaintain Friendship Community properties 5. Provideson-site supervision and coordination for building and remodeling projects. This includes working with subcontractors andvolunteers. 6. Maintainssecurity practices related to property access. 7. Maintainsassigned work vehicle including stock of well-maintained tools as required forscope of required tasks. 8. Attendstraining sessions as assigned and maintains annual training requirements. 9. Adheresto organizational Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable regulatoryguidelines.
  • Work Schedule:
  • Unlessotherwise specified, Maintenance Associates are full-time (40 hours per week), with hours generally 8:00am-4:30pm,Monday through Friday, with flexibilityto respond to urgent needs as they arise outside of typical business hours. The Maintenance Associate role is an hourly position.
  • Education and Experience:
  • 1. Basiccarpentry, electrical, HVAC or plumbing skill knowledge is preferred. 2. Specializedtraining and certification in a specific trade field. 3. Proficiencyin building construction and mechanicals 4. Demonstrationof sound decision making and performance of tasks with limited directsupervision 5. Promotionof efficiency and sustainable solutions 6. Abilityto effectively manage multiple priorities 7. Abilityto work cohesively with a team 8. Demonstrationof creativity with available resources 9. Abilityto lift up to 100 lbs. 10. Promotionof safety culture 11. Basiccomputer skills that include using email, navigating the internet, creatingspreadsheets, and updating Maint related software.
  • Tools/Vehicle:
  • Tools and a work vehicle will beprovided and must be maintained by a Maintenance Associate per theorganization's policies and required practices. XI.
