Maintenance Associate - Core & Main : Job Details

Job Summary

Maintenance and/or repair of machines, equipment, buildings or property. May involve pipe fitting; insulation; carpentry; repairing electrical/mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; repairing floors, stairs, etc.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Reads work orders or receives and listens to oral instructions to determine work assignment.
• Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipments, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety requirements
• Installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates parts of machinery
• Installs and/or repairs wiring and electrical components.
• Assembles, installs, and/or repairs plumbing.
• Paints and repairs woodwork and plaster.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

• Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.

• Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior co-worker and/or supervisor.

Work Environment

• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older

• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED,strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in maintenance or repair.
