Reporting to the Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II, the Maintenance/Construction Technician III position requires specialization in two or more technical trades in connection with maintenance of facilities, related equipment, and machinery. Position functions at the journey level in multiple skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, heating and air, or similar specializations. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Completing complex work assignments which require planning and/or coordinating multiple trade disciplines.

* Working assigned tasks independently and referring very technical or unusual working problems to a supervisor for consideration.

* Supervising offender workers engaged in semiskilled, unskilled, or of skilled maintenance assignments.

* Ensuring compliance with work orders.

* Maintaining equipment in proper working condition.

* The selected candidate may be scheduled to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staffing coverage.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

* Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and/or materials used in the general maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
