Our goal is to have a positive and long-lasting impact on the lives of the people and communities we serve with the hope of providing the care, support, and attention they need.So it is our pleasure to announce that we are currently seeking a full-time candidate for the role of Maintenance Coordinator to join our team!By ICL definition, under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Dir. or designee, a Maintenance Coordinator is someone responsible for both supervising and performing super-like duties and related activities at an assigned facility location by conducting a variety of routine maintenance repairs, and manual labor duties using a variety of hand power tools and various equipment. – activities, tasks, and equipment/vehicle usage vary according to the season and individual needs of the program. Please Note: This role is not to be confused with a Custodian, there is seldom cleaning involved.MIN. ROLE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES:Available Monday to Friday – Hours: 8am - 4:30pmLocation: Staten Island, NY 10305EDU/EXP: GED/HSE or higher and 2+ years of supervision and trade work ‘fix it' like experience – preferably in a shelter settingPLEASE NOTE: In substitute for the mentioned EDU and coinciding experience, ICL will accept the following…OSHA 30 ( Certified and 3+ years of supervision and trade work ‘fix it' like experienceVALID Driver's License Photo ID – NY, NJ, PA, or CT State preferredProper attire at all times – this includes work pants, boots, and outer/inner-wear with the ICL company logo (provided after training)PLEASE NOTE: per ICL policy, all applicants MUST be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before any potential start dateESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to lead and supervise effectivelyKnowledge of basic arithmetic aka MathAbility to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and stretch for long periodsAbility to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructionsAbility to follow rules and procedures regarding maintenance and carpentryKnowledge of maintenance and admin products, standards, and equipment usageKnowledge of safety and basic information related to trade, installation, and laborer workAbility to work in a setting with individuals with mental illness and/or behavioral disordersAbility to perform medium to heavy manual labor, including lifting objects weighing up to 60+ lbsStrong communication, interpersonal, writing, and conveying skills – bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatoryAbility to follow all safety guidelines in accordance with the performance of the tasks mentioned below...MAINTENANCE COORD. TASKS:Locksmith – open locks when keys are not readily availableTool Inventory – maintain and ensure all tools are returned to the site at the end of each workdayMasonry – perform routine installments, maintenance, replacement, and repairs of such as tiles and carpets as necessaryHeat / Water – operate and maintain equipment by replacing parts, such as filters and pumps; clean equipment and adjust components, such as thermostats, and check the oil level in storage tanksRenovation – assist with the remodeling of offices and apartments: repair plaster and drywall, strips, paints or stains woodwork, prepare surfaces for the painting of interior and exterior building structures, fixtures, and equipmentElectrical – perform routine installments, maintenance, replacement, and repairs of electrical equipment overhead door motors, electric ranges, lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and other appliances; running and repairing electrical cables and wiresPlumbing – perform routine installments, maintenance, replacement, and repairs of plumbing systems and fixtures such as damaged steam valves, faucets, sinks, toilets, and leaking pipes: insulate steam lines, thermostats, and water heaters whilst locating and unplugging stoppages using plungers, snakes, etc.Carpentry – build and perform routine installments, maintenance, replacement, and repairs of metal, slate, shingles, roofs, doors, stairs, railings, floors, gates, ceilings, furniture, locks, bookcases, shelves, tables, signs, modular furniture, cabinets, countertops, wood equipment, and other fixtures including platforms and temporary staging, windows: install blinds and door hardwareGroundskeeping – assist with the movement, transport, relocation, and discarding of personnel, furniture, equipment, mail, and supplies as assigned, including the removal of unusable (e.g. infested) furniture and supplies and moving clients' belongings; maintaining appropriate documentation of such activitiesGroundskeeping – performs outside maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, bush trimming, snow removal, etc. as neededMINOR / MISC. TASKS:Administrative – submit docs./paperwork promptly at the end of each workday; follow the work request and other departmental tracking systems; follow already established procedures in placeVehicles – perform routine installments, maintenance, replacement, and repairs such as changing a flat tire, maintaining appropriate fluid levels, and ensuring the interiors and exteriors of vehicles are cleanPerform other job-related tasks as assigned in a professional, organized, and clean mannerPLEASE NOTE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed satisfactorily.
