Job Description :
Essential Job Functions:The Maintenance Coordinator assists the plant's Maintenance and Operations Managers in optimizing the effectiveness of the Maintenance Work Management process. The primary responsibilities are as follows:
  • Assists the management team with evaluating the effectiveness and optimization of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) processes to appropriately establish equipment repair cycles.
  • Facilitates planning and scheduling meetings for weekly and outage maintenance.
  • Analyzes work processes for efficiency and cost management. Recommends cost and time-saving improvements.
  • Generates reports on key measures to assess the effectiveness of the Work Management Process, identify areas of deficiencies and recommend improvements, as needed.
  • Provides support to the Warehouse Coordinator and maintenance staff to ensure the inventory of parts is complete and adequate for supporting the needs of the plant's maintenance program and identify needed improvements with quantities and timing of procurements.
  • Provides analyses of Critical Equipment repair history, to optimize overhaul / replacements based on performance conditions.
  • Develops and updates schedules for planned maintenance outages and short notice outage work.
  • Manages outage preparation activities, monitors performance, and initiates/recommends corrective actions; acts as the single point of contact and communication for outage scheduling conflicts; assists Maintenance Manager in review and approval of schedule changes; ensures baseline schedule and cost changes are approved by the Plant Manager.
  • Tracks and publishes outage status reports.
  • Facilitates the outage scope change process.
  • Facilitates post-outage critique meetings and action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties / projects as directed by the Plant Manager / Maintenance Manager, with latitude for independent judgement.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:The Maintenance Coordinator operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties under general supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed maintenance procedures and guidelines. This position encounters regular, recurring work situations of moderate complexity.The Maintenance Coordinator must be able to maintain a professional, courteous relationship with vendors, working in a safe manner in compliance with all corporate and plant policies. This position must effectively communicate information to plant management relative to the Maintenance Work Management procedures.Considerable knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, supplies, and tools necessary for the maintenance, alteration and repair of mechanical and/or electrical equipment in a natural gas power plant.Considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions required of the work.Ability to clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.Ability to understand and work from general instructions and specifications and use blueprints and schematic drawings.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and outside personnel as necessitated by the job.Ability to diagnose reasons for equipment malfunctions and estimate materials and manpower requirements to maintain company equipment.All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customer's needs are being met.Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is mandatory.Must maintain an in-state, valid motor vehicle operator's license.Education and Experience:A 4-year degree in Business or Engineering with a strong understanding of the functional relationships of plant maintenance and operations and processes is desirable. Prior knowledge of plant equipment and/or experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance practices is required. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment. Experience using computerized accounting and inventory control systems is desired. Proficiency with the use of CMMS software, is a requirement, and prior knowledge and experience with INFOR EAM software is desirable. Must be able to work in confined spaces.XStair/Ladder Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders on equipment at the plant. Must be able to walk on platforms at high altitudes (80 feet or higher)XLifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pull or push equipment or materials.XFingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use phone system.XWorking Conditions:Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. May act as on-call supervisor, ensuring that after-hours equipment issues are resolved. Participation in management on call rotation. On call status will periodically be required.All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. Position will require a pre-employment physical examination and random drug screening.
