Maintenance Mechanic:

Dieffenbach's Potato Chips is a third-generation family business. We are growing and looking for candidates who want to grow with us! We have 2 state-of-the-art production plants with on-site manufacturing, packaging, and fulfillment. We currently have an opportunity Thursday through Saturday and every other Sunday from 6:30pm to 6:30am.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment used in the production of potato chips. This role ensures that all equipment is operating efficiently to meet production goals and maintain product quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Equipment Installation:
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Identify and address any potential safety hazards.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and work performed.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to ensure equipment is operating correctly and efficiently.
    • Inventory Management:
    • Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for maintenance tasks.
    • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and efficiency. Suggest and implement process improvements.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
    • Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
    • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Certifications: Relevant certifications in maintenance or industrial equipment are a plus.
    Available Shift is Thursday through Saturday and every other Sunday 6:30pm to 6:30am.36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week.
