Job Description :
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Form and fabricate parts and components working from graphic, written, or verbal directions.
  • Use machine tools, electric equipment and instruments working with a variety of metals and other materials within prescribed tolerances.
  • Analyze malfunctioning machines and systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.), recommend corrective action and make repairs or modifications as approved by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain a working understanding of plant production process equipment, systems, and facilities in order to perform maintenance effectively under general direction.
  • Work in cooperation with all other Departments to maintain a safe environment for food production and workers.
  • Shares responsibility with all team members for meeting or exceeding all Quality, Safety, Sanitation, Environmental, and GMP standards.
  • Functions as a resource to troubleshoot processing problems on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for equipment and facility repairs/improvements to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensures all process lines, equipment, and systems are fully operational and maintained.
  • Troubleshoots equipment failures; restores equipment to full operation and/or recommends equipment repair solutions.
  • Responsible for his/her safety behaviors and performance.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new and/or modified mechanical components for equipment, systems, and/or measurements systems.
  • Sets up and conducts tests of completed units and/or components under operational conditions; investigates design changes to improve equipment and/or design changes or 2) to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
  • Use past practices, basic data tables, handbooks, and technical references to determine sizes, capacity, dimensions, and other working data for the approval the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and keep equipment and work order records.
  • Teaches, Trains, coaches, and assists other maintenance technicians.
  • Solicit information and ideas from process line team members regarding equipment and line performance; utilize information/ideas to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Facilitates and fosters a problem-solving environment; values and recognizes team member involvement.
  • Ensures all maintenance procedures and practices are accurate and current.
  • Accepts responsibility for leading improvement projects as required.
  • Analyzes indicated or calculated test results related to design and/or specifications; modifies/adjusts equipment to meet required specifications.
  • Records test procedures and results. Recommends changes to improve performance.
  • Modify plant layout by changing process piping, building structures and adding wiring and conduits.
  • Research and records equipment maintenance requirements; creates and implements daily equipment requirements and inspection standards.
  • Conducts asset utilization, downtime, and changeover studies.
  • Tracks equipment and line efficiencies; disseminates to plant team members with intent to solicit improvement suggestions.
  • Adheres to maintenance budget and monitors cost control.
  • Provides technical expertise and support regarding yield, efficiency, and throughput results and/or improvements.
  • Researches, develops, and implements ideas to reduce cost.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures team members are knowledgeable of and follow Quality, Safety, Environmental and Maintenance practices, and procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).Education: H.S or equivalentExperience: 2 years maintenance experience in a related industry requiredTechnical:
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate all plant equipment, including but not limited to electronic instruments, welders, torches, lathes, saws, grinders, basic hand tools, belt lacers rotary hammers, drills, threaders, computers, presses, benders, plasma cutter, trucks, drain reamers, pumps communication equipment, forklifts, manlifts, HVAC equipment, advanced PLC troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform basic to complex machine setups.
  • Troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to teach others.
  • Ability to work with materials such as; metals, plastics, piping, wiring, concrete, machine components, lubricants, solvents, fittings, fasteners, power transmission equipment, belting, steam and compressed air.
  • Basic computer skills (email, CMMS)
  • Completion of Maintenance Tech III Training.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely (verbally and written).
  • Ability to explain, teach, and coach processes, procedures, and concepts.
  • Ability to provide constructive and timely feedback.

Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions may occur.The noise level in the work environment may be loud while production equipment is running.Personal Protection Equipment (including, but not limited to, boots, gloves, safety glasses, and/or face shields) is required during various processes in the production area. Ear plugs and bump caps are always required in the production area.
