Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and drive the maintenance operations at our meat protein harvesting facility. This is an onsite role offering high visibility, significant autonomy, and a clear growth path. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director (and indirectly to the VP), the Maintenance Manager will manage facility maintenance, lead cross-functional projects, and oversee capital improvements.
This role has a proven track record of upward mobility, typically opening every two years due to internal promotions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of facility maintenance for a meat protein harvesting operation (pork, poultry, or similar).
- Supervise a team of 8 direct reports and 150 indirect reports.
- Lead CAPEX planning, budgeting, and maintenance-related resource allocation.
- Optimize and maintain PLC systems and other automation projects.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure facility reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Take full ownership of maintenance programs to meet safety, quality, and production standards.
Qualifications:
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience in meat protein harvesting (beef, pork, poultry, or turkey).
- Facility Scale: Experience managing maintenance in facilities under 900,000 sq. ft.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and foster collaboration across departments.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in PLC systems, automation, budgeting, and CAPEX management.
- Ownership Mindset: Self-sufficient and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a high-autonomy environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Bonus Structure: 70/30 split between personal and company performance; personal portion consistently paid out.
- PTO: 3 weeks (potential flexibility).
