Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, this position will provide daily maintenance on machinery, both preventative and repair. Also, makes repairs or adjustments to machinery and equipment as needed to optimize production, quality and performance of lines and equipment. The position also requires assisting and training entry and intermediate level technicians when necessary.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible or assists others in installation, relocation, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, and routine setup of assigned equipment.
  • Mentor and train entry and intermediate level technicians to raise the skill level of the organization.
Indirectly responsible for productivity via ensuring that assigned equipment is running properly and at assigned speeds.
  • Order spare parts through proper facility channels.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and properly complete all associated paperwork in a timely manner for assigned equipment.
  • Identify maintenance trends, suggest modifications to PM program to address trends and improve equipment up time.
  • Record keeping in the company CMMS system to show completed task and track equipment repairs.
Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced skills in the installation, modification and repair of mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical functions and systems (e.g. fuses and power checks)
  • Working knowledge of PLC(s) (i.e. I/O devices, programming languages, vision systems and calibration)
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to safely perform basic machining operations.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g. meters, micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
Preferred:
  • Two-year technical degree: OR five years relatable maintenance/technical experience may be substituted for minimum education requirements.
  • 5 years maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or commercial environment
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing MS Office and Outlook and Internet (MS Word, Excel); Ability to create spreadsheets, graphs, templates, and/or databases.
  • Knowledge and understanding of LOTO and OSHA safety requirements related to industrial operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of process support equipment and machinery.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical functions and systems (e.g. change oil, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
