About the RoleIn this position, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operation of the facility through providing floor coverage and safe operation of related warehouse equipment and machinery. Be Customer Curious as you support maintenance mechanics while conducting PM's (preventative maintenance) and repairs on equipment. Identify and communicate basic mechanical failures. Work within safety guidelines and under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor or upper level technicians.What You'll Do
- Electrical troubleshooting: Sensors: inspections, alignments, replacements; Inspection and replacement of conveyors control components for KDR system (connection modules and motorized rollers)
- Monitoring and troubleshooting crane and shuttle ASRS (Automatic Storage and Retrieval System) systems to ensure smooth product flow. This work includes regular inspection, monitoring and adjustments of sensors and rails on conveyors, load handling devices, crane masts, shuttles, etc.
- Carry out visual PM (preventive maintenance) inspections of conveyor systems, balers, automated storage components, reporting abnormalities and creating follow-up work orders in CMMS software (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Inspection, removal, rebuilding, setup, and installation of sortation system's carriers according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Rebuilding process includes replacement of shock absorbers, springs, wheels, door blades, drive plates and overall setup of the carriers using go-no-go gauges.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting corrugate baler machine. This work includes daily inspections, adjustments, replenishment of baler wires, cleaning, etc.
- Using hand tools, power tools and shop machinery (drill press, bench grinders, band saw) while working on various projects.
- Operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) such as scissor lifts, articulating telescopic boom lifts for work at heights (Certified for working at heights and operation of or Areal Working Platforms (AWPs)
- Other mechanical work: rebuilding of shuttle flaps, belt replacement and tracking, conveyor roller replacement.
- Following all applicable safety standards and procedures
- Utilizing human-machine interfaces to monitor, troubleshoot and control production machinery and product flow.
Who You Are
- Basic technical knowledge of MHE and automation in a distribution center environment
- Capable of multitasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to perform general maintenance to include; painting, plumbing events, hanging of signs, bulb replacement and facility upkeep in a timely manner
- Understanding of the process of operation of the facility and your ability to effectively communicate issues.
- Ability to utilize conveyor cameras and HMI workstations to maintain product flow.
