As a Maintenance Mechanic you will repair and conduct preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems in this glass manufacturing environment. You will be performing work that requires specialized training and experience related to skilled trades.They do not expect people to come in with all the skill sets needed, but they want people with a strong base knowledge in maintenance that they can train. You will be maintaining both the equipment and facilities and they feel they can teach electrical/electronic candidates the mechanical side.They want candidates with experience working on electrical systems up to 480 volts, who can troubleshoot and maintain a variety of electronic devices and systems such as but not limited to safety circuits, control power circuits and lighting circuits. If you have Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs experience it is a bonus, but they will train you on these if you do not.You may also be asked to run conduit and install new electrical circuits as well as repair and maintain equipment such as: air compressors; vacuum pumps; water cooling systems; palletizers, conveyors, and packaging equipment; electronic inspection equipment; pumps; motors; water treatment; boilers; combustion furnace; dock leveler/locks; and so on. Again, they prefer someone with the electrical/electronic background that is willing and able to be trained on the mechanical side.This is a union environment, and the benefits reflect that with a strong package with low out of pocket costs.It is a rotating shift role that rotates from week to week across 3 shifts, days 7am to 3pm, evenings 3pm to 11pm and overnights, 11pm to 7am. It is a 7 on, 2 off, 7 on 2 off, 7 on 3 off schedule that has plenty of built-in overtime, as well as voluntary overtime. You make time and a half for any hours over 8 in a day or 40 in a week as well as on Sundays.Base of $26.78 to $30/hour depending on experience.
