Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire role in Clackamas, OR. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Pay: $24-$28/hr Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Perform manual inspection on forklifts, CNC machines, welding equipment, shipping tools, and other facility requirements to keep the production flow
- Coordinate with the foreman leads on inside/outside facility with services in repair, maintenance, and calibration as required
- Develop and maintain a reporting log as well as make recommendations regarding equipment, supplies, required repairs, process concerns, safety concerns, and areas for improvement in reliability, yield, and efficiency
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed and ability to implement and train work crews on critical equipment and or safety compliance
- Conduct environmental monitoring activities in the manufacturing areas as required including routine cleaning and housekeeping activities to maintain environmental grade of each manufacturing area
- Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
- Work collaboratively in a team environment
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, prioritizing tasks and taking appropriate actions to minimize production disruptions
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repair tasks, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and equipment inspections
Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or related field preferred
- Previous experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with specific expertise in forklift maintenance and repair
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding machinery for maintenance and repair tasks
- Knowledge of forklift systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical components, with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to equipment maintenance and repair, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide support to colleagues as needed.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing maintenance tasks and documentation, with a commitment to quality and reliability
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts to support production schedules and address emergency situations as required
