Candidate Source has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic with a growing manufacturing based in Richmond, VA. Primary Duties:
- Complete repairs in a timely manner, along with a variety of other duties to all machinery, facilities, and utilities per work order
- Perform planned, routine, or emergency mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on equipment as assigned.
- Prepare and coordinate completion of work orders for regular maintenance and preventative maintenance of machines, facilities, and utilities.
- Log and track specific work functions on production equipment and periodically update preventative maintenance program.
- Perform all work in accordance with all company policies and procedures
- Complete electronic maintenance work orders, report work done, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Determine items that need to be purchased or replaced, place requisitions with administrator.
- Coordinate with maintenance supervision details of any repairs (including outside vendors), preventive maintenance, or improvements needed on equipment.
- Actively support all safety policies and follows policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, HACCP, OSHA standards and JSA regulations
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate in English and communicate respectfully and effectively with other team members and supervision.
- Experience in industrial maintenance (Electrical / Mechanical) and troubleshooting of automated machinery.
- An in-depth, detailed knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical processes.
- Must be particularly strong in electrical troubleshooting Control Systems, VFD's, PLC discrete I/O as well as 480v 3 Phase electrical motors and circuits. Electrical Journeyman license desirable.
- Can utilize PLC when troubleshooting.
- Detailed knowledge of electrical circuits and controllers, including troubleshooting of AC-DC PLC and circuits to board level, Motors, Logic Control Systems, and Controllers.
- Ability to read and work from prints, mechanical, electrical schematic and (PLC Ladder Logic) a plus.
- Has the knowledge and skill to use a variety of hand and power tools as well as shop tools.
- Can use plant welding equipment, producing strong and aesthetically pleasing deposits. Welding certification is desirable.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and following 6S sustainability plan.
- A technical two-year degree or an associate degree in a technical field with minimum 7 years of relative experience in a manufacturing plant is desired.
- Has a complete set of personal tools. Able to perform any task with self-sufficiency.
- Can troubleshoot and repair HVAC, a license is desirable.
