Responsibilities

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 3:30pm-12am. Training on 1st shift M-F for 6 -8 weeks.

3.1 Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on all facility and production equipment with assistance.

3.2 All work performed will be in accordance to GMP's.

3.3 Makes basic repairs on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical functions with assistance and/or proper instructions as assigned.

3.4 Performs preventive maintenance tasks and routines.

3.5 Repairs light fixtures.

3.6 Replace and align conveyor belts.

3.7 Replace motors and gearboxes on conveying equipment.

3.8 Assembles new cabinets, furniture and equipment.

3.9 Replaces and sets blades correctly in grinders.

3.10 Replaces pump seals.

3.11 Index head preventive maintenance, which consists of replacing bushings, bearings, worn locking and pins.

3.12 Replace extruder screws.

3.13 Troubleshoot and repair minor material system problems.

3.14 Troubleshoot and replace blown electrical fuses.

3.15 Maintains machines, tools and work area in a clean and safe orderly manner.

3.16 Must perform all duties within established safety guidelines and procedures.

3.17 Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.

3.18 Follow requirements established under Job Safety Analysis training.

3.19 Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

4.1.1 Must have basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and decimals.

4.1.2 Must be able to speak, write and read effectively in order to understand work orders, safety notices and other forms of written communication.

4.1.3 Ability to print legibly and fill out forms.

4.1.4 Must be able to retain machine locations, equipment rooms and safety equipment.

4.1.5 Logical reasoning with the ability to respond to instructions and follow through and notify Supervisor when instructions or requirements are not clearly understood.

4.1.6 Must be able to plan basic day based on list of objectives that are noted on daily work lists.

4.1.7 Must possess a Berry forklift license and be able to operate and hand jack and powered work platforms.

4.1.8 Must be able to respond in emergency situations such as fires and accidents.

4.1.9 Must be capable of using hand drills, grinders and saws.

4.1.10 Must have good manual dexterity.

4.1.11 Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.

4.1.12 Must be able to work overtime, if needed.

4.1.13 Must be capable of using cut-off and chop saws.

4.1.14 Must be capable of using measuring equipment such as tape measures, levels and micrometers, calipers.

4.1.15 Must be capable of using electrical test equipment, such as AC voltage meter and mulitmeter for testing continuity and DC voltages.

4.1.16 Must be capable of making plumbing repairs, cutting and sweating copper pipe, cutting and gluing PVC pipe, and threading metal pipe.

4.1.17 Must be capable of drilling and tapping.

4.2 Education and/or Equivalent Experience

4.2.1 High school diploma or equivalent.

4.2.2 Appropriate vocational training

4.3 Physical Requirements/Work Environment

4.3.1 Must be able to work nine (9) hours per day, five (5) days per week. Overtime may be necessary.

4.3.2 Must provide own hand tools.

4.3.3 Must work shift hours and days of the week as required.

4.3.4 Must have a high degree of mobility, some repairs require awkward positions in order to access all areas of equipment (such as squatting and laying under machines). Must be able to climb a ladder.

4.3.5 Must be able to comply with cGMP requirements - hairnet, beard guard, no jewelry except for plain bands with no stones.

4.3.6 Noise level is 90dB.

4.3.7 Polyethylene, polystyrene, PET, polypropylene, polyurethane and purging compound materials are both processed and ground, which provides some fumes and dust.

4.3.8 Must be able to wear protective clothing such as steel toed shoes, earplugs, hard hat, ear plugs and Arc Flash attire, etc.

4.3.9 Will have exposure to high-pressure moving parts, shielded surfaces, which have elevated temperatures (350 - 600 degrees), high-pressure hydraulic systems, and high voltage and amperage systems.

4.3.10 Indoor and outdoor work required.

4.3.11 Must be able to lift 35 lbs. occasionally during the day.

4.3.12 Must be able to stand approximately 8-12 hours a day.

4.3.13 Daily activities utilize cleaning chemicals, salt, oils and grease.

4.3.14 This position requires a high level of interaction with all personnel, which requires hearing skills. Must be able to interact with other employees.

4.3.15 Maintenance personnel are a part of the Plant Emergency Organization Team, which requires them to move quickly to shut-off main electric and gas service in the event of an emergency.

5.0 Organizational Relationship
