Per year, across America, thousands of new buildings sport the familiar Morton M.The Maintenance/Mechanic Supervisor is a full-time position responsible for ensuring buildings and their components are manufactured and delivered according to the safety and quality standards at Morton Buildings, Inc. The Maintenance/Mechanic Supervisor will oversee maintenance of the trucking fleet and manufacturing equipment in an efficient and profitable manner, while maintaining a culture of safety.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ResponsibilitiesServes as a safety advocate for Morton Buildings, Inc., exhibiting a constant awareness of safety requirements and promoting safe operations within the production area.Provides direct supervision for hourly maintenance employees in a designated manufacturing facility; including scheduling work assignments, providing on-the-job training, and overseeing employees to ensure adherence to company policies, work instructions and procedures, implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.Leads preventative maintenance process for manufacturing equipment and fleet, while monitoring the budget and stock of critical materials and suppliesFosters a team-focused environment through collaboration with local management and other department supervisors, including those in other manufacturing facilities and fleet management, maintaining standard operating procedures and supporting plant and corporate objectives.Supports talent management for the designated manufacturing facility by participating in the assessment and selection of hourly maintenance personnel and the development of employees through cross-training.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience2 year degree in Diesel Mechanics or Mechanical/Industrial Technology or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience in related fieldSupervisory experience is preferredMechanically diverse experience (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC) is preferredWorking knowledge of OSHA General Industry, EEOC and DOT regulationsPromotes teamwork and demonstrates leadership skillsDisplays aptitude for teaching and coaching of employeesHighly organized with strong attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProven process improvement efforts and results achievedAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow throughDedicated to creating an environment focused on safety, quality, continual process improvement, and profitabilityProficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook email, Word, and ExcelBenefitsExcellent medical/dental/prescription coverageLife InsurancePaid holidaysPaid vacationPaid sick time401K OpportunityESOP Retirement Program which makes you an owner of the companyMorton Buildings, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace.
