Maintenance Planner and Scheduler - SI Group : Job Details

Job DescriptionThe Role:The Maintenance Planner is the principal leader responsible for accurately planning work order requirements for routine, unplanned outage and turnaround work for all craft disciplines at the SI Group Newport Tenn facility. Receives direct supervision from the Maintenance Manager with input from Site Leaders, engineers and operations personnel.How You Will Make an Impact:

• Works closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all maintenance activities are planned, scheduled and executed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Develops detailed work plans to include critical information for job execution to include permitting, safety considerations, special equipment, tools and repair parts required (parts kitting).
• Ensures all technical specifications and special instructions are provided on work orders.
• Establishes the preparatory work required prior to scheduled equipment down time.
• Assists with developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs that ensure all equipment is well maintained and that production downtime is minimized.
• Coordinates planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and minimize interference with production schedules.
• Evaluates executed work against planned work for requirement deficiencies and address those deficiencies when planning future work.
• Uses the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking, planning, and scheduling maintenance.
• Conducts weekly meetings with production coordinator to review WO backlog and schedule following weeks activities.
• Assists with maintaining spare parts inventory to ensure that all necessary parts are available when needed.
• Works closely with the purchasing department to ensure that all MRO supplies are ordered and available when needed.
• Assists in annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting.
• Reviews, on a regular basis existing job plans and ensures that they are up to date and contain all pertinent information.
• Develops and maintains a network of contacts that can provide the goods and services necessary for successful work execution.
• Actively manages WO backlog.
• Coordinates outside services as required for successful job execution.
• Provides relief for Maintenance Manager absences when requested.Desired Skill Set
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and other technical information.
• Knowledge of process equipment with the ability to trouble-shoot, diagnose failures and recognize damage mechanisms in process equipment.
• Working knowledge of pumps, motors, general and specialized parts, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of CMMS and ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Technical writing skills to provide simple and accurate instructions on improving maintenance activities.
• Basic math skills to plan and organize jobs and projects.
• Good time management, organizational and planning skills.

• Required - High school diploma, or GED equivalent
• Preferred - Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant work experience
• Required - Experience with CMMS program in inventory control environment
• Required - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
• Required - Ability to write routine quality assurance reports and correspondence
• Preferred - Proficiency with all MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
