Objective: Manage, order, and process purchase orders for equipment spare parts, operational supplies, and other goods and services needed for daily plant operations. Organize and manage physical inventory and inventory system. Partner with leaders to meet all business objectives.
Essential Functions
Partner and assist with shift supervisors to ensure the Maintenance department runs smoothly, efficiently and safely.Partner with shift Supervisors to coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance scheduling.Partner with outside vendors to negotiate contracts, get quotes, purchase parts and services. Keep up to date files of vendors, services, parts, and costs.Work with current and prospective vendors to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, and delivery terms.Investigate alternative suppliers for better quality and pricing on supplies, parts, and equipment.Maintain maintenance supplies by ordering, tracking, and placing purchase orders and properly coding to correct GL codes. Keep an accurate inventory of all supplies. Make sure all waste is recycled properly.Notify Management regarding overdue materials and parts with impact on repair time frames.Inspect all tools and parts received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.Perform cycle counting and inventory.Oversee the issue and return of parts and materials.Schedule work required for compliance with OSHA and HAZMAT regulations; complete and ensure proper documentation.Required to attend OSHA training annually, HAZMAT training as needed, and remain CPR and First Aid certified.Schedule monthly fire extinguishers and sprinkler system inspections. Document compliance.Accurately complete and maintain maintenance records, both ongoing and preventive, training, safety investigation and other safety records.Requires the ability to sit, stand and walk for a minimum 8-hour shift; Requires the ability to constantly lift, carry, push and pull 25 pounds.Ability to drive company vehicle for purchase of maintenance supplies.Required to work on-site, overtime, swing or night shift and weekends.Other Duties
Participate in Safety Programs.Partner with others to improve plant efficiency and cost effectiveness.Lead improvement projects to maintain outstanding maintenance, safety and cleanliness in the facility.Partner with and be responsive to the Plant Manager, COO, Human Resources and other departments.Provide superior service to internal and external customers.At all times, be a professional representative of the company.Reporting Relationship
Reports to the HR Manager.Works closely with Production, Shipping & Receiving, Maintenance Project Manager, Plant Manager and Human Resources.Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.Prior experience in manufacturing or maintenance.Excellent communication skills, including via email, phone and in-person.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; advanced skills in Excel.Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks.Ability to drive company vehicle for purchase of maintenance supplies.Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Flexible – able to respond positively to changing business needs.Excellent logical decision-making ability.Ability to partner with employees at all levels of the organization.Treat all employees with dignity and respect.At all times behave in a professional and courteous manner.Other duties as assigned.Pay Range: $18.00-$22.00 Hourly
Qualifications
Prior experience working in paper or packaging industry.Physical Environment/Working Conditions
This position is in the factory, where temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year and where employees must use eye and hearing protection and be cautious around equipment and forklifts.
