Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented Sourcing Analyst - Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Buyer to join our team. The MRO Buyer will specialize in purchasing and will work hybrid two or more days per week on-site as needed at our Troy, MI site.This role involves collecting and analyzing data from various sources to support sourcing activities. It aims to improve process and cost efficiency while ensuring high-quality product or service delivery. Responsibilities include executing buying strategies, supporting or leading special projects within the team category scope, and serving as a super user/subject matter expert (SME) for relevant systems and tools. Manage a purchase spend ranging from $100 to $110 million, oversee relationships with 25 to 50 suppliers and negotiate and finalize supplier agreements.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Procure inventory and supplies efficiently: Ensure timely placement of purchase orders with vendors to maintain a steady supply chain. Procures services and goods, inventory, supplies, and capital goods (CIP) compiling and managing programs - (CIP) low complexity/risk sourcing work and contract development under supervision
  • Analyze sourcing and procurement processes: Regularly review and improve initiatives to deliver cost-effective and high-quality goods and services.
  • Provide Value Capture Summaries: Consistently prepare and present these summaries at month and quarter ends to highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Apply sourcing policies and procedures: Adhere to established policies, procedures, and processes to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Support procurement management: Engage in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market research, and model building.
  • Conduct contract negotiations: Participate in minor contract negotiations and provide input on larger contracts to ensure favorable terms.
  • Manage legal and compliance documents: Ensure proper loading and retrieval of documents into storage systems to support regulatory, audit, and research activities.
  • Support Six Sigma projects: Actively participate in Six Sigma projects by providing data and market intelligence to drive process improvements.
  • Support NA CDBS site specific purchasing activities and monthly reporting
ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Data Analytics: Interpret and communicate data to drive business decisions using statistical and problem-solving approaches.
  • Confidential Disclosure: Protect confidential information and ensure proper agreements are in place with suppliers.
  • Cost and Value Management: Control costs using functional tools and maintain competitive pricing while preserving margins.
  • Procurement Ethics: Avoid compromising supplier processes and seek counsel for compliance.
  • Procurement Policies, Procedures, Tools: Understand and comply with procurement policies, master necessary tools, and access relevant documents.
  • Procurement Systems: Link and troubleshoot multiple systems, write reports, document workflows, and participate in system implementations.
  • Source to Pay Principles: Execute sourcing decisions, order placement, and supplier payments smoothly.
  • Sourcing: Use purchasing systems to compare suppliers and select the best fit based on total cost of ownership.
  • Supply Base Risk Management: Mitigate supplier risks to ensure continuity, protect reputation, and maintain margins.
QualificationsEducation/Experience
  • Relevant experience in indirect procurement, commodity, or production applications.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2-4 years experience in indirect or direct procurement, commodity strategy a plus.
