Maintenance Specialist - Chestnut Ridge Church : Job Details

Chestnut Ridge Church (www.chestnutridgechurch.com) is seeking a part-time (15-20 hour per week) Maintenance Specialist who will be responsible for facility and grounds maintenance, cleanliness and building security. We are located in the educational, commercial, medical and cultural hub of north-central West Virginia. Home of the Division I, Big 12 West Virginia University Mountaineers, Morgantown is recognized as one of the best small cities in which to live, work, and raise a family. Key Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador for CRC by positively reflecting the vision, mission, strategy and values to those inside and outside our walls.
• Conduct scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, and annual facility operations assigned.
• Report major facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance problems to the Facilities Director.
• Knowledge and ability to maintain and update electrical, plumbing, fire/sprinkler systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, roofing, and HVAC repairs throughout the facility.
• Maintain a familiarity with emergency operations and life safety procedures for the facilities.
• Responsible for assisting contracted companies to complete repairs on site as needed.
• General cleaning, event setup, and tear down in areas across the facility as needed.
• Maintain outside landscaping, church entrances, sidewalks and parking areas including, but not limited to, mowing, trimming, mulching, and tree/shrub pruning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED minimum
• Experience working as a contractor, electrician, plumber, carpenter or similar trade.
• Ability to read and comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Strong common sense and problem solving skills.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Google Calendar, Docs and Sheets.
• Ability to safely make regular trips to hardware stores or supply warehouses for parts.
• Works well with others including volunteers or other less experienced staff members to help with different projects as they arise.
• Willingness to learn or expand one's own skillset to help meet the needs of the church.
• Familiarity and/or experience with Chestnut Ridge Church is a plus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb or balance, and talk or hear. Applicants must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
