Maintenance SupervisorCore Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and lead a team of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in executing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Process Optimization: Develop, implement, and manage maintenance systems, processes, and documentation to ensure efficient and high-performing manufacturing operations.
  • Maintenance Planning: Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities in alignment with production requirements, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on the effectiveness of maintenance operations, including supplier and contractor performance, equipment reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to operating teams, troubleshooting equipment failures, conducting problem analysis, and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Training and Development: Train and mentor employees on proper work methods, safety procedures, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., USDA).
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, inventory, and equipment status.
  • Reporting: Provide regular status reports to maintenance management on the performance of the maintenance function.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience leading and managing maintenance teams.
  • Advanced technical skills in areas such as ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers, compressed air systems, mechanical engineering, and electrical systems (including PLCs and instrumentation).
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), inventory management, and scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision-making, empowerment, and delegation.
  • Ability to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts for complex process issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to employees within the Maintenance Department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • The work environment may include exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise levels can vary, with moderate levels in general but potentially louder in production areas.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
