Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Summary:The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of the facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role includes managing maintenance activities such as installation, inspection, testing, repair, and calibration of all plant equipment and instrumentation. The Maintenance Supervisor will also provide night supervision during major outages and assist in implementing effective preventive maintenance (PM) programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, assign, and supervise daily maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operations.

  • Conduct daily inspections of plant machinery and equipment, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to operating procedures.

  • Collaborate with the Operations department to prioritize maintenance work on a shift-to-shift basis, ensuring consistent communication and coordination.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards, including training and development of maintenance staff.

  • Supervise mechanical and electrical maintenance functions, covering preventative, predictive, corrective, emergency, and warranty services.

  • Prepare and authorize work orders for equipment repair and maintenance, ensuring timely and efficient completion.

  • Select, train, and evaluate the performance of maintenance staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and safety.

  • Oversee performance and safety compliance of outside contractors during plant maintenance and operations.

  • Manage the maintenance of facility mobile equipment and maintain detailed records of plant maintenance activities.

  • Utilize and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) according to company policy.

  • Oversee the Maintenance Shop, ensuring all equipment meets quality control standards.

  • Maintain plant cleanliness and employee morale while ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Enforce lockout/tagout procedures and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Investigate and address any safety incidents promptly, in collaboration with the Environmental Compliance and Health & Safety Managers.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, using various communication tools and methods.

  • Anticipate and troubleshoot maintenance issues, taking proactive steps to prevent equipment failures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a power plant or similar environment.

  • 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations and maintenance.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience with CMMS.

  • Flexibility to work nights during facility outages or major equipment projects.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Relevant licenses as required by local, state, federal, environmental, and health/safety regulations.

Salary: $125,000
