  • Ensures compliance with all Evonik safety, health, environmental and quality policies and governmental regulations by assigning and confirming completion of all required inspections, measurements, monitoring, recording, recordkeeping, reporting, and training.
  • Lead the work process flow for the Etowah Maintenance team and the Etowah Site to meet expectations of Evonik Binding Technical Documents and Standards.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning/Shipping and Operations to minimize plant downtime and maximize equipment overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Lead team in preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, including equipment upgrades, to eliminate bad actors to improve overall site reliability.
  • Ensure that tools such as A3's, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Single Point Lessons are utilized to document issues and to lead improvements at the Etowah Site.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Manager and team members to most effectively manage resources to eliminate issues (no matter the source) across the Etowah Site.
  • Perform required audits of facility and log proper documentation.
  • Address Human Resources (HR) needs for the team, including performing and documenting all performance/development needs of technicians and leads.
  • Ensure all required training has been completed by department personnel.
  • Recommend new or modifications to equipment to improve performance and safety. Submit Management of Changes (MOC's) as needed.
  • Ensure all required communications are performed, understood, and documented.
  • Participate and perform documented root cause analysis as required to meet goals.
  • Coordinate with contractors/vendors providing service to the Etowah site.
  • Complete other activities as-assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • BS/BA degree in business or technical discipline preferred with 5+ years' experience OR
  • AS/AA degree in business or technical area with 5+ years' experience in a chemical plant environment in a maintenance leadership role OR
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years' experience in a maintenance leadership role
  • Practical knowledge of Federal and State safety, environmental, and personnel rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results with highly developed conflict management skills to ensure coordination in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fluid environment with, at times, competing priorities for common resources.
  • Possess a solid foundation in plant maintenance and operation principles, with a focus on preventative and predictive techniques
  • Working knowledge of process control equipment, Microsoft Suite products, and SAP a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, A3's RCA's, Kaizens, etc. a plus
