The Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of refrigeration systems and equipment within the facility. This includes planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance and repair activities to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities:
System Maintenance:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all refrigeration systems.
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
- Monitor system performance, including temperature and pressure readings, to identify potential issues.
- Respond to equipment failures and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of refrigeration technicians.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and coaching to team members.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and codes related to refrigeration systems.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, such as refrigerant handling and disposal.
Cost Control:
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, including parts and labor.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in refrigeration maintenance and repair.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, including thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Experience with various types of refrigeration systems, such as ammonia, CO2, and HFC.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- EPA certification in refrigerant handling and disposal.
