Description

A manufacturing facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, and equipment, as well as the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and utility systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring seamless production operations and maintaining facility standards.

  • Review job orders to establish work priorities.
  • Schedule repairs, maintenance, and equipment installations to maintain production continuity.
  • Coordinate activities involving fabrication or modification of equipment to support production needs.
  • Oversee maintenance of utility systems, ensuring consistent availability of resources like heat, steam, power, gas, and air.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program in collaboration with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Analyze production, quality, and maintenance reports to plan and adjust maintenance activities.
  • Inspect machines and equipment for compliance with operational standards.
  • Introduce and implement new procedures to enhance operations, reduce costs, and improve resource efficiency.
  • Procure necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for maintenance activities.
  • Train and supervise workers to improve performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, and quality teams to resolve maintenance challenges and propose improvements.
  • Prepare and monitor department budgets to manage expenditures effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (required)
  • At least 10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in maintenance, engineering, or operations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for technical training and professional development.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
