Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Class V Team LeaderSummary Statement:The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for the execution and support of the maintenance oriented activities, which will achieve the desired results of Food Safety/Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety! This position will lead and direct the day-to-day activities of highly skilled maintenance employees to ensure that the accurate plans; procedures and routines are carried out. This position is responsible to supervise scheduling and planning, supervision of the CMMS (SAP), and MRO activities for the plant storeroom. This position will also perform maintenance as needed to fulfill the daily plans.Primary Role and ResponsibilitiesMain point of contact for all maintenance related activities during their shift. Participate in and direct troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure including participation in failure analysis and problem solving. Perform maintenance tasks as needed to include: PM's, rebuilds or covering production lines. Use SAP system to coordinate work orders, preventive maintenance processes, and support others in use of the work order system Handles work requests through a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) Prioritizes work through a defined protocol of process criticality and equipment duplication Estimates total labor requirements on a job-by-job basis Defines material and repair parts needed for all work requests Balances issued work orders with labor availability and skills Maintains and monitors a monthly backlog report Coordinate staffing to ensure the highest level of departmental coverage and maintain appropriate shift crew level to meet staffing requirements. Communicates and implements all Company, Plant, and Departmental work rules and policies. Ensures consistency with constant communication within the Maintenance Department. Member of plant purchasing team for maintenance department which handles purchasing, receiving and training for other plant personnel. Ensure that employees have the vital training, information, tools and direction to get the manufacturing lines started on time while achieving optimal performance throughout the production shifts. Facilitate company strategies for MRO management by supervising the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Ensure timely computerized maintenance management system stock receipts and disbursement entries. Manage and control quantities, descriptions, and locations of all storeroom inventory by controlled material receipt, periodic physical inventories, and continuous cycle counting. Facilitate monthly reporting on performance against KPI measures. Responsible for the transfer, inventory, and disposal of all equipment located at offsite warehousing. Actively participates with the Plant Engineers, other Maintenance Supervisors, and Mechanics in the implementation of the maintenance continuous plan. Connect with supervisors and maintenance employees from other shifts to ensure equipment specific problems and needs are addressed in a timely and efficient manner! Perform observations for both improved safety and quality as required. Actively participates in tasks required to support QRMP. Complete all tasks as assigned by your Manager or Supervisor.Contacts/organizational relationships:The Maintenance Team Leader will report to the Maintenance Manager and be a primary resource to lead the plant maintenance process for the operational areas. This position works directly with the maintenance employees, the Plant Leadership Team, and plant engineering resources to drive improvements.Qualifications and Education RequirementsEducation Level:High School Diploma/GEDAdditional Education/Certification/Skills:English Language Skills - Able to speak, read, and writeRequirementsA minimum of three years manufacturing experience is preferred. A minimum of three years' maintenance experience is preferred. Must have a strong mechanical background. A solid understanding of SAP/PM 6.0 is preferred. Must possess a continuous improvement mentality. Must have a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team-based environment. Must have demonstrated leadership skills in motivating, mentoring and involvement concepts. Must have capability to prioritize with a focus on delivery plant goals. Must have a proven ability in problem solving techniques.
