To learn more about fairlife and its complete line of products, please visit fairlife.com. job purpose: The Maintenance Team Lead will, on a day-to-day basis, act as the single point of contact for all maintenance/automation issues on their designated shift. The maintenance team lead is responsible for the coordination and execution of activities within the Maintenance staff to ensure a productive workforce that supports the facility. responsibilities:

  • Determine and schedule work activities based on priority
  • Maintains systems (Upkeep, shift pass down communication) for monitoring and tracking work orders, preventive maintenance and parts associated.
  • Responsible for the trouble shooting, root cause analysis, safe maintenance, repair and replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum productivity and quality.
  • Coordinates the daily activities of the maintenance planning, parts room, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation personnel.
  • Keeps parts room and shop areas in a neat and organized fashion performing daily shift audits
  • Checks in daily with the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor for open PM's and coordinates work with Production Supervisor
  • Ensures adherence to customer service standards. Works with maintenance staff to ensure that production, processing and facility maintenance equipment issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that proper follow-through is done.
  • Works with maintenance employees and other department Supervisors and managers to develop an effective, proactive team that works together to achieve facility objectives.
  • Ensures adherence to company safety standards, policies and procedures. Insures maintenance staff correctly wears and uses safety equipment, as required. Also, insures that all safety inspections are completed as required and ensures adherence to company policies.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to conduct regular on-site safety meetings
  • Completes facility maintenance tasks and responds to facility service requests. Repairs and maintains facility plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and security systems.
  • Ensures the computerized maintenance management system (Upkeep) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment is maintained and updated timely, accurately and promptly.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Follow all safety and working rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Mechanics must possess all of the level 2 qualifications and demonstrate leadership skills

working conditions and physical requirements:Sitting/Standing/Walking: The operator stands throughout their shift. The operator walks on uneven concrete and tiles surfaces. Lifting/Carrying: The operator lifts up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis and 80 pounds on an occasional basis. Two or more employees complete lifts of greater than 80 pounds. Pushing/Pulling: Some pushing or pulling could be involved in assisting operators make hook ups of piping or equipment. Bending/Stooping: The operator stoops throughout the workday, for varying lengths of time. The operator may have to bend and stoop when servicing product pumps and during clean up duties and when picking up items off the floor. Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling: The operator may assume any combination of these positions during cleanup duties, including kneeling on the floor and crawling under equipment. The operator may squat to use legs for leverage when using a large wrench to open product presses. Twisting/Turning: The operator may assume any combination of these positions during cleanup duties. The operator may be required to work in tight places. Climbing/Balancing The operator is involved in the loading out of condensed skim milk, requiring climbing a flight of stairs to the top of the tankers and balancing on the tanker while making the necessary hook ups and opening of the dome covers. The operator is involved in the inspection of processing equipment, which could involve climbing 100 steps to the top of the dryers or evaporators. Reaching: The operator reaches at or above shoulder level at various times during the shift when making adjustments on the control panel or making pipe fitting connections or washing milk silos. The operator may have to reach during clean up assignments or to climb vertical ladder. Grasping/Manipulating: Frequent use of the hand and fingers is required. food safety requirements:
  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming products in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
