The Maintenance Tech is responsible for ensuring the overall continuous operation of Paragon properties both from a production as well as a facilities perspective. The Maintenance Tech will work with management to prioritize needs as well as identify opportunities for improvement within the organization while assisting with training of entry level Maintenance Techs. This role must be knowledgeable in and follow all procedures needed to ensure the proper safe and efficient operations of the production environment. Position works under established procedures and company guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Skillfully performs maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and/or physical structures, including the maintenance/replacement of complex motors, high voltage systems and the ability to effectively remove and replace AC/DC drives.
* Performs basic welding tasks as related to a manufacturing environment.
* Utilizes blueprints to understand machinery, facilities maintenance requirements with limited supervision.
* Performs advanced or complex wiring tasks with limited supervision.
* Accurately performs general inspection to discern the root cause of moderate equipment failures and or the need for maintenance equipment. Makes moderate repairs within guidelines and authority limit, assists with larger and more complex projects, follows established procedures for maintenance tasks and reporting duties.
* Follows and ensures that all safety requirements and procedures are always observed and met .
* Is knowledgeable and skilled in the use of hand tools, other industrial maintenance tools and can identify proper tools for various jobs.
* Effectively prioritizes maintenance jobs in order of importance or urgency to ensure production downtime is kept to absolute minimum. Works with manager to determine priorities and ensure knowledge of significant issues.
* Works within, uses and/or effectively monitors the Programmable Logic Controller, Drive systems and Robotics at a moderate level and troubleshoot within system.
* Maintains basic knowledge of the Line Computer system and may work within the control system with supervision.
* Works within the Computerized Maintenance Management System to record daily tasks including the shift reports, work orders, etc. in a timely and accurate fashion.
* Assists with maintaining maintenance department; ensuring inventory is returned to proper locations and general housekeeping tasks are completed.
* Identifies and presents opportunities for improved processes and procedures to assist with efficient management of maintenance tasks and service provided to all departments.
* Maintains and up-to-date knowledge of machines and facilities. Ongoing learning through seminars, trainings, classes, etc. to ensure up to date knowledge related to job functions, equipment, electrical tasks and other applicable tasks as related to the job duties, utilizes knowledge to provide training to newly hired Maintenance Techs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
* Ability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints
* Basic welding skills
* Intermediate wiring skills
* Knowledge of hand and other maintenance related tools.
* Ability to demonstrate sound judgement while adapting to fast paced environment and rapid changes. Able to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail
* Ability to be on-call and respond to maintenance calls and needs during off-shift hours
* Strong organizational skills combined with good problem-solving skills
* Practice and promote teamwork within our organization, demonstrated leadership skills, and ability to effectively train on maintenance related topics and procedures
* High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality with the ability to be on call as need for maintenance issues.
* Proven, successful experience in a maintenance role using relevant tools and procedures

* Ability to understand and communicate verbally and in writing in person and over paging system
* Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of one to three years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment working on both facilities and machinery.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Maintenance in a plastics manufacturing environment
SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:
Work involves overtime, shift rotations and schedule changes. Requires adherence to deadlines and project completion deadlines.
* The Salary range is reflective of a Maintenance Tech 4 with Step progression 1 - 13 as required for transparency under the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act.
Pay: $27.00 - $38.50 per hour
Rotating 2-2-3 schedule. Straight Nights. 7pm - 7am, with $1.80 night shift differential. Requires weekend shift. Holiday premium offered for holiday shifts.
36 to 48 hours
