Inspection/Maintenance
- Identify, implement, and maintain systems for accountability and record keeping.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on structural and mechanical systems, including water, sewer, stormwater systems, pressure vessels (chemical testing, record readings), and general recreation equipment.
- Conduct daily testing and maintenance of the steam heating system at Webbs Norman Center.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems, ensuring compliance with ADA and other regulatory requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance on small tools and equipment, and source repair parts for unique plumbing systems across district facilities.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure work quality, progress, and adherence to schedules.
- Coordinate with inspectors on pressure vessel compliance and testing.
- Complete seasonal start-up, shutdown, and winterization of district irrigation systems, outdoor drinking fountains, and restrooms.
- Troubleshoot and perform technical repairs on pool systems, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all plumbing work is performed safely and efficiently, adhering to established safety standards and effective equipment utilization.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of departmental safety procedures and protocols; participate in ongoing safety training and in-service programs to support continuous development.
- Accurately maintain service records for mechanical and structural systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed bid specifications for plumbing-related equipment and provide recommendations for pumps, motors, and other components based on system performance evaluations.
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of the annual budget, focusing on plumbing maintenance needs, equipment upgrades, and resource allocation.
- Establish clear priorities and schedules for plumbing maintenance tasks, coordinating with assigned operations maintenance staff to optimize workflow and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Collaborate with other maintenance teams and departments to enhance overall operational efficiency and support capital improvement projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance programs, making recommendations for improvements to enhance service delivery and operational excellence.

RequirementsEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma and 1 plus years of technical or college level courses in related field and 3 to 5 years of experience in related field.Critical Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must have basic knowledge of HVAC systems and their functions.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with staff, patrons, and external partners.
- Must exhibit above-average problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license within 6 months of hire.
- Must be willing to participate in seasonal snow removal operations as needed.
- Must possess a valid driver's license to operate district vehicles and equipment.
