SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all electrical and mechanical machine maintenance plus maintain facilities. This individual is also responsible for fabrication and project work and executing daily PM's.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ability to independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain shop floor production Machinery, Crane, forklifts, and other machines.
* Utilize several trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc
* Respond to work order requests
* Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety
* Performing quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems
* Coordinate and complete system and building repairs and preventative maintenance requirements in a timely manner
* Inspect building exteriors, interiors, parking lots and grounds regularly. Troubleshoot operations failures and re-establish building services under minimal supervision. Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed
* Ability to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance
* Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
* Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
* Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
* Ability to read manuals of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly
* Communicate with management and operators to inform them about equipment faults and best maintenance techniques to implement for maximum performance
* Maintain scheduled Preventative Maintenance daily
* Perform facility exterior maintenance and repairs
* Responsible for maintaining lock out tag out procedures
* Responsible for maintaining the facilities infrastructure, both internal and external
* Fabricate, build equipment and components for projects
* Maintain a clean, safe, orderly work area
* Perform all other duties assigned or requested
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
* 4 years of electrical, machine and mechanical maintenance experience required
* 1-5 years of experience working with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and masonry.
* Relevant trade certification and/or licensure given preference
* Solid working knowledge of facilities electrical, plumbing HVAC systems (MEP)
* Preferred knowledge in Powder Coat Systems, Curing Ovens, Material Handling, Fabrication Equipment, etc.
* Ability to operate machinery and any technical equipment
* In-depth knowledge of air and heating coal systems required
* Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
* Familiar with all OSHA safety standards and regulations
* Skilled in analyzing information and communication
EDUCATION
* High school Diploma
* Prefer to hire candidates who have an associate degree with a focus on plumbing, electrical wiring structural, electrical and HVAC skills.
* Basic training in wiring and plumbing installation and repair is needed, and additional coursework in HVAC systems, mechanics, tool maintenance, refrigeration systems and welding is recommended as well.
