Title: Maintenance TechnicianFull-Time/Part-Time: Full timeFLSA: United States of America (Non-Exempt)Description: JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for supporting the oil and gas operations. The position is diverse and may vary on a daily basis. The Maintenance Technician works with equipment they are qualified to operate such as man lift, forklift, trucks and trailers, skid steers and mini excavators, etc. The Maintenance Technician work with our production team and contractors to coordinate and complete their job tasks safely and timely. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a safe working environment while promoting Gulfport's safety culture and expectations
  • Adheres to all safety rules, regulations, policy, procedures, and practices at all times
  • Production tank installation and repairs
  • General location cleanup
  • Perform or assist with pressure tests
  • Replacement or modification of existing facilities equipment
  • Operate standard gas field machinery
  • Load and unload equipment utilizing fork trucks and rigging
  • Secure and transport equipment and materials on trailers and flatbeds
  • Collect data pertinent with asset tracking
  • Develop parts list for jobs
  • Cut and thread pipe
  • Ensure all tools, including vehicles, are kept in good working order and necessary repairs are performed in a timely manner so the tools are available for use
  • General yard maintenance
  • Help clean up spills
  • Perform and document ultrasonic testing of piping
  • Test equipment being removed for TNORM
  • Must be proficient with all hand and power tools
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Ability to operate equipment and work from heights
  • Knowledge of metal working including welding, cutting and threading
  • Ability to do simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication)
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with members of small and large teams
  • Ability to work on their own and complete tasks without assistance
  • Have good problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to use a computer, iPhone, and iPad
  • Employment contingent upon submission to and successful completion of pre-placement drug test along with random drug testing and a motor vehicle record check
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with good working knowledge of all oil and gas surface production equipment is preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are typical to that of the field environment, and are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
  • Ability to climb vessel ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and otherwise navigate uneven rural terrain
  • This position requires walking or standing for extended periods in all types of terrain and working in environments of extreme temperatures (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
  • Must be able to manually open and close valves and other equipment
  • Must be able to use pipe wrenches and other applicable oilfield related tools
  • Exposure to loud noise, occupational hazards, or outdoor elements
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and walkways as associated with oilfield environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands along with fingers, to type, squeeze, handle or feel materials
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, 75-100 lbs. on an occasional basis
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, iPads, iPhones, laptop computers, photocopiers and filing cabinets and fax machines. This job also operates in a field environment with equipment, dust, debris, and varying weather conditions. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time hourly non-exempt position. Days and hours of work will vary due to workload and needs of the company. TRAVEL: Frequent local travel is expected for this position.
