Job SummaryBy applying electrical theory and related knowledge, assists engineers in the design, evaluation and repairof electrical equipment.
Job Duties- Provide basic technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction
- Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve developmental problems
- Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems
- Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
- Install, repair, modify and upgrade industrial control systems; control systems may be relay controlled, microprocess based on PLC logic (i.e., PLC programming and troubleshooting)
- Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations
- Prepare project cost and work-time estimates when needed
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education- Perform work under direct supervision
- Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
- Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 0 to 2 years of experience
