Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician ensures safe, efficient, and continuous operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment ina pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Reporting Structure
Reports to Maintenance Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
* Uses hand tools, power tools and delicate testing equipment in performance of duties
* Completes basic maintenance procedures with minimal supervision
* Complete complex Maintenance with limited supervision
* Completes maintenance request work orders for regulated and un-regulated systems
* Performs routine checks/inspection routes. Records equipment readings and changes chart paper.
* Effective documentation of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration under the GMP, development and research umbrella
* Complete Equipment Activation following established procedure
* Schedule self-performed work assigned at beginning of month and due by end of month
* Schedules and escorts contractors through facility for routine deliveries or inspections. Ensuring they complete activities per procedure or agreements
* Recommend facility improvements to meet OSHA safety, ISPE or FDA guidelines
* Creation of maintenance procedures, and updating existing procedures to match best practices and lessons learned
* Identifies and orders spare or replacement parts for equipment utilizing inventory management system.
* Performs other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent, advanced technical certification preferred
Experience
* 2-4 years' experience in industrial maintenance supporting a manufacturing facility, preferably in a cGMP related environment
Competencies
* Demonstrated mechanical ability
* Knowledge and application of HVAC systems, including clean steam/boiler, preferred
* Knowledge and application of high purity water systems, preferred
* Knowledge and application of clean room technology and certification, preferred
* Electrical/electronic repair/troubleshooting experience, preferred
* Knowledge and application of PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferred
* Knowledge and application of bioreactors, CIP cleaning systems and autoclaves
* General facility repair, maintenance and up-keep experience, preferred
* Ability to use Excel, Word, and other office systems.
* Ability to cross-train on techniques across multiple groups.
* Ability to read architectural, Mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings.
