Position SummaryThe Maintenance Technician performs ongoing preventive and routine maintenance procedures, troubleshoots, and quickly repairs mechanical or electrical problems as appropriate and keeps equipment and systems in proper working order.Essential Functions
Carry out task outlined in the center's preventive maintenance program including operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks to ensure repairs are completed timely.Monitor and respond to work order requests submitted by staff in the automated work order system and ensure timely repairs.Inspect buildings, maintain inventory, and perform or schedule repairs.Manage heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality and alert management when external resources are required to repair identified issues.Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.Conduct periodic quality and operation checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard including smoke and carbon monoxide detectorsMaintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.Utilize vehicles for center-related needs such as golf carts, hand trucks, or riding mowers.Ensure all safety systems are functioning properly.Promote a harassment-free environment.Participate in department meetings and all mandated PRH and Strategix training.Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property and adhere to safety practices.Promote a harassment-free environment.Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student's personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.Adhere to and model Strategix servant leadership culture values: Honor Others, Inspire Vision, Choose Integrity, People First, Balance Focus with Flexibility, Serve with Humility, and Innovate and Disrupt. RequirementsQualifications and Experience MinimumHigh school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience in construction/building maintenance. Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers, and other building systems. Knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS). OSHA certification. Must be well-organized and able to prioritize tasks. Good written, verbal, communication, and math skills. Information technology skills. Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required.PreferredPost-secondary degree in a related field or certification from a professional trade organization or apprenticeship.
