Position Purpose:
Under direction, perform all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant.
Key Job Activities:
1) Performs diagnostic evaluation on equipment and make repairs when needed. Ensures that repairs are performed properly in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.
2) Performs preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on a daily basis on a variety of machinery within the plant. This machinery includes:
* fire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners and other water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.
* incinerator process equipment/systems maintenance, including burners, CEMs , high temperature refractory, controls, PLC, combustion air blowers, pressure controls and conveyance systems.
* steam turbine and electrical generator systems.
* air pollution control devices, to include bag houses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon beds.
* general air pneumatics, including air compressor, regulators, solenoid valves, 2-way and 3-way valve, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps and related systems.
3) Performs light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment to include 480V/240V/120V/24V powers systems. PLC and light robotics troubleshooting and maintenance experience helpful.
4) Performs any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure a safe, clean, healthy and efficient facility and vigorously support Stericycle's commitment to Safety.
5) Documents results through completed work orders based on schedule and priority or as required.
6) Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Experience:
Education equivalent to Associates Degree from two-year college or technical school, or the equivalent in related work experience.
Three or more years related experience and/or training, demonstrating the ability to identify and perform repairs that are needed and to assure scheduled production run.
Must have experience with the use of forklifts, man-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities.
Possession of boiler, welding, or electrical certification or license is helpful.
Must have experience with the performance of lockout/tag out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities.
Must have experience with general air pneumatics, including air compressor operation and maintenance, regulator replacement, solenoid valve replacement, 2-way and 3-way valve, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps and general system troubleshooting.
Demonstrates the ability to use all power tools associated with metal machining to include: power drills, chop saws, reciprocating saw, grinder and pneumatic hammers.
Must be able to use soldering/brazing torches, and acetylene torches for cutting steel.
Must be able to use a welder to fuse carbon steel and perform repairs.
Knowledge of how to maintain a hydraulic system and the ability to read hydraulic flow diagrams is preferred.
The ability to weld stainless steel or higher alloys and to operate a TIG welder is a plus.
