MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - Welch's : Job Details

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and install plant production and processing equipment. This is a Second Shift position with hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Where You'll Work:

This role will be based out of our 24/7 manufacturing facility in Lawton, MI.

What You'll Do:

* Maintain and repair production and processing equipment, utilities, refrigeration, and facilities.

* Install, repair, and maintain piping components, motors, pumps, control panels, pneumatic systems, and controls.

* Continuously improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.

* Collaborate with production teams to maximize machine uptime.

* Train other mechanics on equipment maintenance and setup.

* Utilize a computerized Maintenance Management System for documentation.

* Perform preventive maintenance tasks and suggest efficiency improvements.

* Recommend and implement changes to improve equipment reliability.

* Follow food safety, housekeeping, and sanitation procedures at all times.

* Participate in regular meetings and complete other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

* Safety-conscious around complex, automated machinery in a non-temperature regulated environment.

* Strong troubleshooting skills with effective communication abilities.

* Proactive in identifying root causes and resolving issues.

* Able to work independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Need:

* 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/processing environment as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.

* Minimum 2 years of machine maintenance and repair experience required.

* Experience in a food, beverage, and/or GMP compliant environment preferred.

* Multi-craft skillset including Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, and mechanical systems.

* Must pass a maintenance aptitude test before hiring.
