Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Sunday to Thursday Friday - Saturday Off
General Purpose: The main purpose of this role to support production and to ensure the equipment is operating at its optimum level and producing a quality product. The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repair services in multiple crafts including but not limited to mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, utilities, etc.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Locate, diagnose and repair any problem causing equipment downtime or unsatisfactory equipment performance
- Perform work with minimum downtime and interference with operations concern
- Perform both unscheduled and scheduled work as well as preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment to help achieve a goal of zero downtime and one hundred percent efficiency
- Work with the SAP system to develop and maintain accurate parts inventory levels
- Complete changeovers and overhauls on all packaging and canning machinery
- Make repairs and adjustments to conveyor tracks, gear boxes and motors
- Operate, monitor and troubleshoot various systems throughout the plant i.e.: water, steam, air and water cooling systems and associated pumps and valves
- Correct GMP discrepancies
- Interact with contractors, plant personnel and maintenance supervision
- Assist in other maintenance areas as directed or needed
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
- Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
- Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
- Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
- Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

Pay
- Competitive pay - $28.39 to $34.85 per hour based on experience
- Rate includes $1.00 shift differential for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 years in a food processing or manufacturing environment
- Basic Electrical skills
- Basic knowledge of welding, metal fabrication and plumbing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to pass the skills test
- TIG, Sanitary stainless steel pipe (purge welding)
- Must be able to understand and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery
- Ammonia refrigeration knowledge
- Must have own basic tools
- Must be flexible to work any shift and / or days of the week
- Must be able to stand and be on feet for up to 12 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs
- Ability to use simple math, adding, subtracting, multiplication and division
- Ability to take measurements
- Ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment without supervision
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
