2nd Shift Maintenance Technician Title: Maintenance Technician IDepartment: OperationsPay Rate: $28.00 - $35.00/hr DOE for 2nd Shift Differential2nd Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30 PMSUMMARYCoordinates and manages the bulk of maintenance activities related to facility of location and its operations with minimal direct supervision. These activities are listed in the section below.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following list. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a safe work environment and conformance to all safety, environmental, customer, and cGMP requirements as specified by Operations Management.
- Manages and executes corporate PM and WO systems for area of responsibility.
- Coordinates internal and external resources in fulfilling PM and WO functions.
- Recommends and implements actions to improve operations related to core responsibilities.
- Interfaces directly with engineering and operations and communicates effectively in verbal and written form.
- Provides team leadership in meeting the company's quality and production goals.
- Takes on an internal customer focused service approach to activities.
- May be required to work in multiple company locations when necessary.
- Provides assistance to production and engineering when called upon, or when need is observed.
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED
- Must be able to use and maintain basic machine shop equipment. This includes lathe, mill, drill press, assorted hand tools, grinders, TIG and stick welding equipment, inspection equipment, etc.
- Must be familiar with how to troubleshoot and maintain a variety of plant and process equipment. This includes motors, air compressors, chillers, HVAC equipment, drive units, water delivery equipment, electrical service equipment, motor starters, switches, etc. Should be able to specify simple equipment.
- Must be familiar with basic mechanical design, and be able to read and modify mechanical drawings and process drawings (e.g. piping and instrumentation diagrams).
- Must be familiar with basic electronics and simple controls. This includes being able to effectively read and use electrical schematics and control diagrams for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Must be able to install simple electrical services and controls. Broad level understanding of electrical codes a plus.
- Must be computer literate and be able to effectively and efficiently use the software tools required for the job. These include, but are not limited to, Outlook, Office products, MRP systems (e.g. Smart Maintenance).
- Must be able to solicit quotes from vendors and contractors and generate and submit requisitions for parts and labor necessary to fulfill the activities described in the previous section.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GED, PLUS 1 to two years of vocational school combined with four or more years of job experience in a manufacturing, tool & die, or mechanic shop OR eight or more years of job experience in a manufacturing, tool & die, or mechanic shop. HVAC and/or electrical certifications are desirable.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, speak, and write English fluently. Must be able to read and understand technical procedures, descriptions, instructions, and protocols. Ability to write reports and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers in a professional and discretionary manner.PHYSICAL DEMANDSIn order to adequately perform the activities and fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs. The employee's physical condition must be such that they can comfortably endure this level of physical exertion.PERSONAL SKILLSMust demonstrate a high level of professionalism, perform tasks in a workmanlike manner, and behave with a high level of integrity and maturity in all situations.
