Ideal Candidate:
- 2-5 years industry experience within manufacturing or production environments
- Experience in Preventative/Predictive Maintenance
- Pipe fitting or welding experience preferred
- Rotating equipment experience preferred

JOB SUMMARY
- This role executes assigned mechanical work within the maintenance department of a chemical plant.
- The maintenance technician's primary responsibilities are to execute scheduled, and unscheduled, work, respond to callout emergencies, and fosters good teamwork between maintenance and operations.
- The technician also adheres to all safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all safe work practices; use proper PPE, fall protection equipment, etc.
- Complies with all OSHA Safety and Health regulations.
- Be willing, and able, to perform line breaks in chemical service, with proper PPE
- Complete preventive maintenance work and provide feedback on any issues.
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
- Performs troubleshooting of equipment failures and participates in root cause investigations of major or repetitive equipment issues.
- Performs laser alignment of rotating equipment.
- Perform all the necessary installation inspections and quality checks on new rotating equipment installations.
- Manage input to work orders and notifications and complete time confirmations in SAP.
- Requires carrying an off-shift pager for one week on a rotation basis with other Mechanical Technicians. Typically, one week every 4-6 weeks.
- Work during vacation blackout periods during annual turnarounds
- Work overtime, either required or offered, to address production needs
- Adhere to all GMP Standards/Requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of related maintenance.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Associate degree strongly preferred.
- Pipe fitting or welding experience.
- Rotating equipment training
KNOWLEDGE/SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- Precision maintenance practices.
- Rebuilding mechanical drives.
- Precision alignment of rotating shafts.
- Forklift and man lift experience
- Good computer skills
- Overhaul and installation of pumps, agitators, compressors, blowers.
- Performs general mechanic tasks including but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communication with Supervision and Production.
- High sense of urgency, be a self-starter.
- Deal effectively with the unknown and unexpected and possess the ability to handle non-routine and emergency activities, such as plant shutdowns, start-up, commissioning, etc.
- Be able to lift 60 lbs., walk, sit, squat, bend, push/pull with arms/legs, body, reach overhead, stoop.
- Available for flexible hours and overtime as required to support Maintenance activities including shutdown both planned and un-planned.
- Daily assignments include both indoor and outdoor work, year-round.
- This position may require the handling and/or management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation, identification, characterization, and movement. Each employee shall receive RCRA training annually and any additional hazardous waste training as deemed necessary.
