St. Paul's Catholic Church Maintenance Technician Reports to: Facilities Director FLSA: Hourly Non-exempt Part time - 25 hours per week The part time Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance for the Church, Family Life Center, St. Vincent D'Paul, Murphy Hall, Facility Building, School and Gym as assigned. These general responsibilities include miscellaneous repair and upkeep, custodial assistance and help with set-up and take down of tables and chairs for parish events. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Change light bulbs
  • Set Up for events
  • Pick up trash
  • Perform small repairs
  • Painting
  • General cleaning
  • Haul trash
  • Maintain playgrounds
  • Assist custodial staff when requested/needed
  • Change ceiling tiles
  • Fix and maintain machines
  • Repair flooring
  • Work on plumbing and electrical
  • Maintenance of air-conditioning and heating systems, including changing filters
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Interpersonal skills including tact, courtesy, and diplomacy
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Prior maintenance experience a plus
  • Must successfully pass the required background check prior to employment and every five years
COMMUNICATION AND COMPUTER SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leadership, vendors, employees, and the general public. Must have average computer skills, including aptitude with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
