Position: Maintenance - Afternoon Shift

Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a motivated self-starter to support day-to-day operations in our facilities department. This position is responsible for a wide variety of activities such as essential upkeeping tasks, repairs and cleaning to ensure our building is safe, clean and functional. The ideal candidate will have solid maintenance work experience, the ability to work well with others and to work effectively and efficiently with good safety practices.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning functions to prepare the building for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
  • Assist with urgent and general building repair and maintenance with minimal direction.
  • Assist with and/or lead seasonal-specific projects.
  • Inspect the building and its systems for the purpose of identifying necessary repairs and perform preventive maintenance procedures in accordance with maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in the installation and/or repair of equipment.
  • Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving any immediate safety concerns.
  • Assist and support all departments as needed to ensure the successful completion of activities.
  • Visible presence within the school, including interactions with faculty, staff, students and visitors.
  • The ability to remain flexible to prioritize assignments set forth by the facilities director.
  • Develop and maintain courteous working relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Weekend, holiday and on call availability.
  • Other duties assigned by the facilities director in a professional and team-oriented manner.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Proven work history in general maintenance is required.
  • Ability to problem solve, remain flexible and the willingness to learn.
  • Work with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Ability to multitask, follow and execute instructions with efficiency and proficiency in the completion of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Ability to perform long-term standing, walking and squatting tasks.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds on a frequent basis and 50 or more pounds on an occasional basis.
