Examples of Duties
- Installation and maintenance of seasonal flowerbeds
- General landscaping maintenance
- Performing manual labor and related duties
- Installs sod, trees and various other plants
- Applies pesticides and herbicides
- Operates chipper and a variety of commercial mowers and small engine hand tools
- Works in inclement weather
Teamwork is an essential function of the job and at times it may be required that the candidate work outside the Grounds Division. Minimum Qualifications
- A working knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees is preferred
- Experience with tractor/large equipment is desirable
- Must be able to read and write, as well as understand and follow verbal instructions
- Must have a valid state driver's license

Retirement Full-time employees participate in the Defined Contribution 401(a) Retirement Plan. After one year of employment, the employee will begin contributing 6% to the Plan, with the City making a matching 6% contribution. Employees are fully vested after 5 years of service.
