Job Description:This is an entry-level position in the Facilities Management department. The position's work is focused on grounds keeping, and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus.The Maintenance Worker II - Grounds may also have opportunities to learn general building maintenance skills in a healthcare setting.Essential Functions

• Maintains the appearance, condition, and safety of facility grounds, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment to meet seasonal needs.
• Assignments may include planting, fertilizing, clipping, pruning, mowing, blowing, weeding, shoveling snow, plowing, irrigation monitoring, and applying chemical control products.
• Have basic knowledge in landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, and the use of insecticides and herbicides on turf, trees, and flowerbeds.

Qualifications

• Some experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance.
• Willingness to work hard and to learn.
• A valid driver license may be required for this position.

• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
• Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.
