Summary:Conducts routine maintenance tasks as well as serving as Security. Heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems adjustments. Security rounds and watches. Minor painting and carpentry. Minor plumbing and electrical repairs.

Other Information:
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT Exposure to all conditions that exist in a hospital environment.Must be able to tour and inspect all areas of the facility, including boiler room, mechanic rooms, etc.The hospital's ambient environment differs in all its buildings due to varied types and sizes of electro/mechanical systems, use of building, age of building, size configuration and physical condition.The environment differs in space temperatures, and relative humidity.
PHYSICAL CRITERIA/EFFORT Must be able to walk, stand and sit as required.Work requires lifting loads up to eighty pounds.The mobility to walk from the detached maintenance shops to hospital and climb stairs, stoop, kneel, stand, crouch to access equipment, reach and stretch are all necessary.Exposure to noise and vibration from operating equipment, indoor/outdoor temperature swings, burns from heated equipment and piping systems are part of the working environment.Working hours for per diems are as offered.

PROBABILITY AND CONSEQUENCES OF ERRORS Average.Poor judgement on the seriousness of reported incidents could put the facility at risk of litigation and/or Physical Plant damage.
NUMBERS SUPERVISED This is a non-supervisory position.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERENCES Previous experience with building maintenance and/or security preferred. Vocational technical school graduate, trade school graduate, or high school graduate preferred. Maintain a valid State of Maine High Pressure Boiler Operator's License or be able to obtain one within one year of date of hire. Maintain a valid driver's license. Previous healthcare experience preferred. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED •
