Maintenance Worker (K) - 617 - Water Distribution - City of Wichita Kansas : Job Details

This is work in the maintenance and replacement of residential water meters and associated electronic transmittal devices. These employees perform semiskilled maintenance tasks or assist skilled workers in the performance of maintenance work. The primary emphasis of the job is on the performance of a variety of tasks which require general mechanical ability rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade. Work is supervised and inspected while in process and upon completion by a supervisor. Workdays and Hours - Monday - Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm. Bargaining Unit: Service Employee's International (SEIU) - - Employees within the department or division shall be given first consideration - - Examples of Work Performed Compares manual and electronic meter readings.
