The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is seeking a confident, proactive, and relationship-oriented fundraising professional to fill the role of Major Gift Officer. The activities of this department are fast-paced and high-energy and require a team player with the ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and be a forward-thinker.The Major Gift Officer is responsible for the engagement, cultivation, and solicitation of donors and prospects through face-to-face solicitations, the organization of large and small-scale fundraising events, and volunteer projects, and providing support to lay leadership commitments. The Major Gift Officer will report to the Annual Campaign Director and manage their own portfolio of current donors and be charged with identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding new prospects.* Serves as a relationship manager for a portfolio of approximately 150 key donors, Foundations, and prospects at the Major Gifts level.* Educate donors and prospects about the mission of the Jewish Federation in ways that inspire them to give. Accomplish this through one-on-one meetings, fundraising events, educational programs, mitzvah projects, agency visits, and missions.* Actively engage in regular donor and prospective donor communication, cultivation and direct solicitation with specific metrics and fundraising goals.* Maintain records of donor engagement and develop a multi-year fundraising and stewardship strategy for assigned donors. Evaluate goals and progress regularly with a supervisor.* Play a visible and collaborative leadership role within the overall Development department and across other departments and provide professional support to the team for campaign-related events and programs.* Identify opportunities to engage volunteers, senior leadership, and the President and CEO in strategic cultivation and solicitation efforts.* Attend meetings, events, and conferences within the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and at outside agencies/organizations as deemed appropriate.* 4-6 years of work experience in the nonprofit or for-profit sector* Experience with event planning and shepherding corporate sponsorship* Proven experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and customer relationship management software* Experience with solicitation and fundraising campaign* Strong organizational skills* Ability to think and work strategically, and be a big-picture thinker* Proven track record of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with volunteers, other Federation staff, and external audiences* Experience with social media strategy and creationEducation & Training Requirements:* College degree in a related field or previous relevant work experience required.About the OrganizationSince 1901, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has served as the hub of the region's Jewish communities, providing an infrastructure of support for Jewish people and organizations in need.
