• Perform mammographic imaging procedures, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, in compliance with established protocols and safety standards.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and use of compression to achieve optimal image quality while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
• Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning.
• Review and evaluate images for technical quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy.
• Educate and prepare patients for procedures, addressing any concerns and explaining the process in a compassionate manner.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure documentation and imaging reports.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Stay current with advancements in mammography technology and best practices through continuing education and training.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• 1 year Mammography technologist experience, Relevant Equipment.
• A valid license as a radiologic technologist issued by the NYSDOH and post primary certification in mammography issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• BLS preferred.
