Staffmembers engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.The Manager, Clinical Content will be responsible for the development of clinical information - that relates to the MS disease process - including general disease information, symptom management, coping and emotional response to illness, family issues, disease modifying therapies, professional practice content, and research support for both the professional and general audiences, distributed through multiple Society communication channels. The Manager will work collaboratively with the healthcare access team and with other functional teams to provide content expertise and to ensure that content is in alignment with organizational strategic priorities and direction. They will be responsible for analyzing outcomes data and engaging key stakeholders (healthcare professionals and people affected by MS) to ensure new and existing content is prioritized, relevant and accurate.Essential Functions / Responsibility Content creation and maintenance (80%)
- Create, maintain, and evaluate the impact of MS specific content for healthcare professionals and people affected by MS that aligns with the strategy and goals of the Healthcare Access Team that meets the Society's strategic priorities.
- Maintain knowledge of MS, current treatments, disease and symptom management.
- Stay up to date on advances in MS though publications and research.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Directors of Health Equity, Clinical Content and Resources and External Stakeholders to translate the needs of people affected by MS to content for healthcare professionals and providers.
- Contribute to the development of specialty focused training and publications for clinicians, healthcare providers and healthcare stakeholders.
- Work in dynamic and adaptable teams to ensure that content is relevant, accurate, easily understood (health literacy) and consistent across all channels.
- Working with the AVP of Clinical Innovation and Strategy and the Senior Director of Clinical Content and Resources, represents the Healthcare Access team on workgroups where clinical content is needed as appropriate.
- Engage with subject matter experts as appropriate to ensure all content is accurate and relevant to provider and stakeholder needs.
- Attend clinical and scientific conferences and meetings as appropriate to increase public knowledge of MS and the Society.Team responsibilities (20%)
- Attend/actively engage in training, professional development, conferences, and staff meetings.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of all Society and relevant 3rd party (e.g., Komodo) information systems.
- Implement and follow National MS Society risk management policies and procedures.
- Actively take part in local market events and activities supporting Society priorities and local staff and volunteers.
- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and understanding of healthcare systems and provider needs.
- Contribute to team meetings, provide support and feedback to colleagues.
- Utilize matrix management techniques to foster relationships with local market leaders.
- Other duties as assigned.Role Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the non-profit and healthcare industries.
- Clinical or educational experience in MS, (e.g., RN, care coordinator) or other professional experience, is helpful.
- Strong skills in organization, communications, relationship-building, influencing, problem-solving and strategic thinking.
- Must have the ability to think through problems, make inclusive decisions, and lead others through complex situations.
- Ability to apply professional discretion and judgment to sensitive situations involving a diverse set of stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.Technical Competencies

- Position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving, and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines.
