JOB SUMMARY

The Manager Commodity is responsible for all commodities including composites, plastics, electronics, actuation, and machined parts. This position develops, leads, and manages a procurement strategy for the Huntington Beach business unit, in harmonization with global Adient site strategies.

  • Oversee supplier selection, negotiate pricing, and establish long-term contracts.
  • Identify and monitor supplier financial health, delivery and quality performance, shared company-owned tooling, and optimize part transportation costs.
  • Conduct market analyses that contribute to an optimal selection of strategic suppliers.
  • Assess supplier capability and capacity.
  • Develop a supplier network of on-time delivery performance.
  • Provide support to site buyers / procurement specialists, as needed.
  • Prepare status reports and create supplier Key Performance Indicators.
  • Cooperate with people of different levels inside and outside the company, interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives on a very high level.
  • Express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people and lead negotiations on a high level.
  • Recognize and respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency and increase expectations on a high level.
  • Work to achieve the highest delivered quality at the lowest possible cost, support company Program targets.
  • Take actions and decisions to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner; involved in designs and work requiring creative imagination on a high level.
  • Set goals in consistency with company objectives and adapt plans to changing environment.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

    Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience:

  • 5+ years supply chain experience as a supply chain buyer, preferably in aircraft interiors knowledge.
  • 3+ years' experience in writing and negotiating supplier long-term contracts.
  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102 and Boeing & Airbus commercial aircraft contract requirements.
  • Skills:

  • Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus specifications for aircraft seat systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of EASA and FAA for aircraft seat systems.
  • Proficient in MRP systems and Inventory Management.
  • Other:

  • Extended or irregular hours may be required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Will be asked to travel globally to source and secure supply chain suppliers.
  • Often asked to travel on short notice.

  • COMPENSATION / BENEFITS

    Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

    Salary Range Transparency: $120,000 - $135,000 annually.
